THE ISM FAIR 2017 REGISTERS MORE THAN US$ 2 MILLION IN BUSINESS
The expectation for the next 12 months is to exceed US $ 8.4 million; 19 Brazilian companies participated in the fair.
São Paulo, February 2017 - The participation of 19 Brazilian companies from the chocolate, candy, biscuit, snacks and confection sectors at the International Sweets and Snacks Fair - ISM 2017 in Germany, resulted in more than US $ 2.1 million in closed deals and is expected to reach more than US $ 8.4 million over the next twelve months. The presence of Brazilian companies in the event is a result of the Brazil Sweets and Snacks project, a sectorial project for the promotion of exports, developed by The Brazilian Cacao, Chocolates, Peanuts, Candies and Byproducts Industry Association (ABICAB) and The Brazilian Industry Association of Biscuit, Pasta and Industrialized Breads & Cakes (ABIMAPI), in partnership with The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil).
In total, 567 contacts were established, 256 of which were new contacts. According to the Vice President of Exportation at ABICAB, Milena Boggio, the countries that stood out most in terms of contacts were: USA, Ecuador, Mexico and Canada. But contacts were also formed with buyers from Portugal, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Great Britain, South Africa, Angola and Saudi Arabia among others. "This year we had a lot of people visiting the stands, partly because of the joint participation of the two sectors. It was possible to make great business deals, generate new contacts and strengthen already established relationships, which increase the expectation for future revenues", she analyzes.
The following companies from the Brazil Sweets and Snacks project participated in the fair: Berbau, Chocolates Garoto, Docile, Dori, Embaré, Enova Foods, Harald, Jazam, Montevérgine, Neugebauer, Peccin, Riclan and Simas. Among the new product launches and highlights, in total there were more than 20 products displayed at the fair.
